Course objectives
The aim of the lecture is to introduce the students of the long-term programme to actual situation and supposed trends in scientific computing within the borders of computational and mathematical methods in biology and medicine.

  • Scientific computing development history
  • Actual situation in the area of computational science (software, hardware, communication, computer networks)
  • The art of computing (numerical, symbolical computing, data warehouses, visualization, share of the data and information, data mining )
  • Deterministic models in biology a biomedicine, their simulation and scientific computing
  • Stochastic models in biology a biomedicine, their simulation and scientific computing
  • Parallel computing and use of the GRID technology
  • Data mining and artificial intelligence, using of databases, knowledge management
  • Share of knowledge, ontology
  • Visualization of scientific computing in biology a biomedicine
