Course objectives
Main objectives of this course can be summarized as follows: to understand the basic conditions of plant cell, tissue and organ culture in vitro; to learn the basic methods of this cultures and application of these methods for plant multiplication, breeding and production.
Syllabus
  • Conditions of in vitro Culture, Laboratory Design.
  • Media Preparation and Sterilization.
  • In vitro Vegetative Propagation: Micropropagation by Proliferation of Axillary Buds, Adventitious Shoot Proliferation; Initiation of Primary Culture, Subculture.
  • Callus Culture: Callus Initiation and Maintenance, Subculture, Organogenesis from Callus.
  • Meristem Culture: Apical and Axillary Meristem Isolation and Culture.
  • Embryo Culture: Isolation and Culture of Young and Mature Zygotic Embryos.
  • Cryopreservation: Alginate Encapsulation/Dehydration of izolated axillary potatoe meristems.
  • Fungi Culture in vitro: Suspension Culture of Wood-Destroying Fungi.
  • Indexing and Certification of in vitro Cultures
