Course objectives
The teaching objectives are to check the acquired knowledge and skills practically during fieldwork, to prepare the students for solution of the practical tasks, to encourage both team and individual activities, to present the acquired knowledge at a mini-conference, to work out a final situation report.
Syllabus
  • The application and improvement of geographical knowledge and skills of Regional Geography of the Czech Republic and Landscape Ecology.
  • 1st part – preparatory
  • The students will be divided to working groups, each group will process data for assigned tasks and issues. As an action area a model area in the Czech Republic will be selected.
  • 2nd part – fieldwork
  • The groups will continue working in a model area, all groups and individuals will collect data and documentation for their final reports. Each fieldwork participant will take notes that will be submitted for the final evaluation.
  • 3rd part – mini-conference
  • Each group will present one of the solved issues in approx. 5 minutes time – a PC and data projector will be available.
  • 4th part – working-out of the situation report: A model area – case studies
  • On the basis of the background research and the documentation each group will work out a situation report, submit it both in printed form and insert it (a Word file) into IS.
