Course objectives
The students will acquire knowledge related to public administration and administrative organization of the Czech Republic and other european countries.
Learning outcomes
By passing the subject the student acquires knowledge that can be used in communication and cooperation with representatives of public administration and in gaining and exercising employment in this area.

  • 1) Introduction to public administration issues
  • 2) State, rule of law and civil society
  • 3) Fundamentals of public administration - character and basic concepts, constitutional organization of public administration in the CR, central administration of the Czech Republic
  • 4) Search for underlying materials and legislation in public administration
  • 5) Transformation, Modernization of Public Administration - New Public Management, E-Government
  • 6) Building Office Agenda - Processes of Territorial and Regulatory Plan Approval
  • 7) Financing of municipalities, budgeting of taxes
  • 8) Territorial public administration - municipalities and higher territorial self-governing units
  • 9) Public administration in European countries
  • 10) Territorial-administrative division of the Czech Republic - development, reform and current status
  • 11) Final discussion
