Office for International Studies at Masaryk University offers CELTA course leading to obtaining of CELTA certificate (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults).

The Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) is an internationally recognized certification in the field of the teaching of English. It is designed for people with no or very little English-language teaching experience. CELTA course provides the participant with the knowledge and tools to teach English as a foreign language worldwide.

CELTA course is led by experienced trainers in CELTA centre in Brno in cooperation with the English department at the Faculty of Arts at Masaryk University.

Timetable: February 13 to May 22, 2013

A week at a glance:

Monday 16:40 – 18:40 – Observed teaching practice (teaching English to beginners, the first 8 weeks of the course)

Monday 19:00 – 19:45 – Feedback

Tuesday 16:40 – 18:40 – Observed teaching practice (teaching English to intermediate students, the last 7 weeks of the course)

Tuesday 19:00 – 19:45 – Feedback

Wednesday 10:00 – 16:30 – Input + assisted lesson planning

CELTA course fee is CZK 25,000 for MU students and CZK 35,000 for Non-MU students.

Duly filled application form for MU students (download) and Non-MU student (download) has to be mailed or turned in with all required attachments to the following address:

Deadline for CELTA application submission is January 15, 2013 (for students who do not need visa in order to study in the Czech Republic) or earlier when the course is full. For students who need visa in order to take course in the Czech Republic the application deadline is October 15, 2012 or earlier when the course is full.

OIS MU reserves a right to cancel the course from capacity reasons.

2) Interview with CELTA tutor (by phone or in person in Brno). You will be invited by Office for Internation Studies for the interview

3) Acceptation to the CELTA program (An official letter issued by Office for Internation Studies)
