Popis kurzu (for English version go down):
Metodický kurz pro učitele základních, středních a jazykových škol, zaměřený na využití nejmodernějších informačních technologií ve výuce angličtiny. Výuka bude probíhat v počítačové laboratoři a účastníci kurzu se dozví o možnostech, které informační technologie učitelům angličtiny nabízí (využití on-line kurzů, slovníků, testů, Youtube atd.) a krok za krokem si vyzkouší a naučí se pracovat s jednotlivými zdroji a aplikacemi a používat je v hodinách angličtiny tak, aby výuka studenty k učení motivovala a odpovídala nejnovějším trendům. Lektor:
James Thomas, M.A. učí na Katedře anglistiky Filozofické fakulty od září 2008. V předchozích letech působil na Fakultě informatiky a na Pedagogické fakultě MU, vždy se zabýval metodologií, didaktikou a využitím IT ve výuce angličtiny. Kromě toho působí jako lektor Britské rady v Číně, publikuje v odborných časopisech a vytváří materiály pro e-learning. Kniha Global issues in ELT Classroom (Globální problémy ve výuce angličtiny), jejímž je spoluautorem, vydaná společností Fairtrade v Brně, vyhrála cenu ELton.

Course desription:
The ICT4ELT course is designed to train teachers in the use of some of the most widely used tool on the internet, always from the perspective of English language teaching. Each of the sessions is taught in the computer lab with demonstrations and step-by-step training. The course is more oriented towards practical skill development than pedagogical theory.
The following list is the range of topics that will be offered in this course. The actual content will depend on participants´needs and prior skills.

Tutor:
James Thomas, M.A. has been working full time at the Faculty of Arts (FF) since the autumn of 2008, having transferred from the Faculty of Informatics where he worked for six years. Prior to that he taught at the Faculty of Education, all at Masaryk University. As Head of Teacher Training, he is particularly interested in the "language" aspect of ELT and the role of computers in language education, including classroom concordancing and e-learning. Besides, he also trains for the British Council in China, writes for journals and e-learning materials. His recent co-authored book, Global Issues in ELT Classroom, written under the auspices of the Brno fair trade organisation has won ELTons 2010 for Innovation.
