Course objectives
The main objectivec of the course are:understanding and grasping the theoretical-methodological concepts of the developmental psychology in the relation to the profession of midwife, deeper understanding and grasping of the important methods, notions, and theories that are especially related to the period of early childhood, deeper understanding of the early childhood specifis on the basis of the acquired knowledge.
Syllabus
  • Developmental psychology-basic notions-phylpgenesis, anthropogenesis, developmental stage, developmental crisis, agents of mental development, cricital sensitive periods. Developmental theories-psychodynamic, psychosexual, psychosocial levels of development, cognitive theory of development, theory of attechment, subjective well-being. Characteristics of the period from the point of view of cognitive, emotional, and socia development-antenatal, newborn, suckling, toddler,pre-school and early school age, adolescence-early, middle, late, adulthood, aging and old age.

Teaching methods
Type of teaching-lecture-1 hours, practice 1 hours. Requirements for the finishing of practice, form of finishing: credit 80% participation on the teaching,presentation of the personality of the student herself (basic anamnestic data, family, professional career and aims, hobbies). Active participation is expected, pairwork, teamwork.
Assessment methods
Studens will be informed about the requirements for getting the credit in written form a seminar paper on certain topic will be set (5 given topics and 1 topic of oneš own) according to the requirements given. Colloquium has a form of a written test, the result of the test is evaluated in points, within the range from 0-25 points, minimum number of points for passing is 20.
