Course objectives
Nursing in Otorhinolaryngology - Practical training is a practical subject that integrates knowledge from the theory and practice of nursing, basic science disciplines, natural, social and behavioral sciences. The subject follows up on the previous nursing practice and provides for consolidation and deepening of nursing knowledge and skills. The content of the subject is a separate practical activity in the form of clinical internships at the otorhinolaryngological workplaces. The goal of clinical internships is the ability to apply the nursing process to patients with otorhinolaryngological disease.
Student will be able to: define the specifics of the nursing process at the ORL department, identify the needs of the patients, formulate the nursing problems of the patients, and formulate nursing diagnoses, establish nursing care plan, assess the effectiveness of nursing care and nursing interventions, evaluate the nursing care plan, use nursing and health care documentation and recording changes in the status of patients according to the competencies of the studentscompetencies of the students.

Student will be able to:
to understand the specifics and organization of care in otorhinolaryngology
to understand basic diagnoses in otorhinolaryngology and their clinical manifestations
to identify the patient's needs in otorhinolaryngological diseases
provide nursing care to a patient with otorhinolaryngological disease
evaluate the effectiveness of care provided in a patient with otorhinolaryngological disease.

Clinical internships take place at workplaces: St. Anne's University Hospital in Brno, Department of Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery: inpatient departments 21, 27, 75 or Brno University Hospital, ENT department and ENT intensive care unit.
