Course objectives
Main objectives of this course are identified in the cognitive, psychomotoric and also moral and ethical level and could be summarised as follows - at the end of this course students should be able to: - understand vbasic nursing terminology - nursing process, patients needs - understand what the basic nursing skils are - recall the basic nursing skills and expalin their content - to recall the basic nursing equipment for the bathing, feeding, excreting of the patients -to explain and demonstarate how to provide basic nursing care towards the people with disorders to help them with mowing, feeding, bathing and excreting - practicaly demonstrated how to make a bed (occupied and unoccupied), and how to wash patients with the mobility problem in the model situation in skill labo - to explain the using of the standardised examination of the patients status (Barthel test ADL, IADL etc.) -to explain basic technigues of measurement of vital signs (eg. temperature, blood pressure, pulse, recall the equipment, - to demonstrate the ability to measure temperature, pulse, blood presure etc. - to identify the problem of the patients and on the basis of identification they will be able to determine and delineate nursing diagnoses according to NANDA -to define the necessity of effectiveness and holistic nursing care - to asses the health status of the pateints on the basis of the vital sign measurement (Pulse, Blood Pressure, Body temperature etc.) - to prepare all the equipment for the basic nursing skills (washing, feeding, moving, excreting) - to identify the problem of the patients with the chronic diseases (according the scales) - to evaluate the appropriate nursing skills in the model situation concerning the basic nursing skills - to compare the approach to the patients with different health status concenrning the basic nursing skills - they will be able to use basic nursing dictionnary and scientific terms in relation with basic nursing care - to use the scientific sources (electronical, books etc.)The subject Nursing process and people needs is classified as a theoretical and practical with a superiority of practical activities in relation with nursing care. The tuition is situated in the skill labs where the clinical enviroment is simulated. There are used the modern approaches according the evidence based healthcare during the lectures.
Learning outcomes
- identify and describe the basic technical terminology relating to the nursing process and the needs of the person - Describe basic nursing care for people with disabilities (in the area of assistance in movement, food intake and excretion, vital functions and biological material collection) - Apply basic procedures related to the measurement and evaluation of vital functions - Identify and describe the basic terminology expert lexicon in relation to the provision of nursing care - Identify and describe the problems of the patient and their to formulate a nursing diagnosis (to manage the orientation in the nursing process) - define requirements for individual holistically applied nursing care.

  • People needs and nursing process: theoretical framework and nursing models in basic overviwew. – the needs of people and their hierarchy – nuring process - theoretical introduction, the phases of the process – nursing process – anamnesis, evaluation, data set - collection – nursing process – nursing diagnostic, NANDA taxonomy II – nursing process – planing of the nursing interventions – NIC – Nursing intervention classification – nursing process – realisation of nursing interventions – NIC – Nursing intervention classification – nursing process – evaluation of the achieved aims and goals of the care and comprehensive evaluation of the nursing process. Nursing process during the helping with basic people needs (health and ill patients): – Nursing process concerning the arrangement of moving of the patients (body activity and bodily needs, self-sufficiency) by healthy and also ill people - Nursing process concerning the hygienic needs by healthy and also ill people - Nursing process concerning the feeding and hydration by healthy and also ill people - Nursing process concerning the excreting (urination and defecation) by healthy and also ill people - Nursing process concerning the vital signs measurements (temperature, pulse, exreting, breathing, blood pressure etc.) by healthy and also ill people – Nursing process concerning the needs of sleeping. – Nursing process concerning the pain management.
