Course objectives
Within the course students are getting acquainted with the position of psychiatry in medicine. They are getting knowledge about psychiatric disorders, their clinical manifestation, treatment and nursing. In the sphere of special psychiatry the most frequent psychiatric disorders and treatment methods (including biological treatment) are presented. Emphasis is putting on principles of targeted communication with persons suffering from mental disorders both adults and children. The aim of study subject is to enlarge and deepen students knowledge.
Syllabus
  • Biological Psychiatry: Fundamentals of mental disorders therapy, pharmacotherapy, other biological treatments in psychiatry  . Special psychiatry: Manifestations of the most common mental illnesses: Neurotic disorders and stress-related disorders, personality disorders, eating disorders. General psychiatry: the most common manifestations of mental illness: Disorders of mental function; schizophrenia, affective disorder. Psychotherapy and communication with the sick man  : Psychotherapy at   individual psychiatric diagnoses, communications; relationship physician - patient, physician interview   Paci; rules of communication to specific groups of patients. Child psychiatry: Basic problems of child psychiatry.
