Course objectives
In the practical part students gain experience with executing particular methods in cerebrospinal fluid analysis at least within the range that the graduate is able to join the working team of laboratory dealing with diagnosis of neurological diseases.
Learning outcomes
A student will be able to do the following upon completing the course: perform cytological tests of cerebrospinal fluid – quantitative cytology in a FR chamber; prepare cytospin dissections – qualitative cytology; perform and evaluate biochemical tests of cerebrospinal fluid including spectrophotometry; apply immunochemical methods of testing cerebrospinal fluid including isoelectric focusing of CSF and serum.
