Course objectives
Seminars are complementary to Medical chemistry lecture (VSLC0111p). The knowledge of general, inorganic, and (bio)organic chemistry, required in the end of VCLC0111p, is thoroughly practiced during Medical chemistry seminars.
Learning outcomes
Students will be able to:
-understand basics of general, inorganic and organic chemistry to the extent necessary for the further study of biochemistry.
- apply general physicochemical laws to processes in living organisms.
- describe the chemical properties of the most important biogenic elements and essential compounds of importance in medicine, nutrition and toxicology.
- describe and discuss the properties and reactions of organic and bioorganic compounds important for the understanding of biochemical processes
