Course objectives
The aim is to educate the students in basic pathological and pathophysiological thinking in medicine. This is the only subject in the curriculum which deals the general as well as special aspects of causes and symptoms of diseases.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student will be able to:
- explain general principles of the developement of pathological changes in the body
- employ principles of general pathology in particular organs and organ systems
- understand connections between pathological changes in organs and clinical issues

  • Pathology of kidneys.
  • Etiopathogenesis of nephrotic and nephritic syndromes.
  • Pathology of stomach and intestine.
  • Pathophysiology od endocrine system I
  • Pathology of liver; hepatitis, cirrhosis.
  • Pathophysiology of endocrine system
  • Pathology of woman reproductive syste
  • Pathophysiology od reproductive system.
  • Pathology of breast; pathology of man reproductive system.
  • Pathophysiology of nervous system.
  • Pathology of central nervous system I.
  • Pathophysiology of blood forming tissue and of coagulatio
  • Pathology of central nervous system II; bone pathology.
  • Pathophysiology of metabolic disorders.
  • Pathology of skin (dermatitis, tumors).

Assessment methods
The exam is written - multiple choice test. The lectured topics are parts of exam questions; therefore, the lecture attendance is extremely important because lectures are the only form of education of this sophisticated subject.
