Course objectives
After the finishing of the lecture collection a student will be able to use information about features, types and technology of material processing, which are used, eventually were used, in optical practice. The student will be able to explain types of spectacle frames and lens producing in respect to using materials, types of spectacle lenses, which are presented on market and also surface layers, which improve optical, physical and esthetical features given on contemporary lenses.

After the finishing of the lecture collection a student will be able to use information about features, types and technology of material processing, which are used, eventually were used, in optical practice.

  • Glass - definition, quality, production
  • Production of sferical and torical mineral spectacle lenses
  • Organics materials for spectacle lenses production
  • Spectacle lenses on correction of presbiopia
  • Special spectacle lenses
  • Finish processing of spectacle lenses - thin films ( coatings )
  • Finish processing of matter of spectacle lenses
  • UV light - safety filters
  • Ultrasound and ther exploiting in optical praxis
  • Eye prothesis - sortes, production
  • Seminars: Work card, assess of prescriptions, model situations
  • Excursion: Europtik
