Course objectives
At the end of the course student should be able to understand mechanisms of xenobiotic (including drugs) effects and under which conditions they and their combinations may elicit therapeutic, adverse, and toxic effects, and what is the relation to the dose given, administration route, status of the organism (differences in pediatrics and geriatrics). They will be familiar with the requirements of "Good Clinical Practice" for development of new drugs, and duties of physicians in cooperation with the pharmaceutical industry and principles of pharmacovigilance. They will be able to recognize selected drug classes and pharmacological profiles of representative drugs from groups of drugs selected in the curriculum.

Teaching methods
Curriculum offers attendance at lectures read by teacher of pharmacology.
Assessment methods
During the studying the students have to prove active knowledge of pharmacology acquired. Students have to pass the exam: final written multiple-choice test. In the Final Exam students are asked to answer to multiple-choice questions. Only 1 correct answer is possible to each question. The test contains 30 questions generated randomly for each single student. One point is granted for each correctly answered question. 0.5 point will be distracted for an incorrect answer to the multiple-choice question. The summary of the score obtained is evaluated as follows: mark A = 91-100% out of the maximum score; B = 81-90%; C = 71-80%; D = 61-70%; E = 51-60%; F = failed with the score below 50% of the maximum score.
