Course objectives
Dermatovenereology is specialty focused on diagnostics and treatment of the skin and venereal diseases. The topics is divided into two parts: general and specialized. In general part is described the structure of the skin and skin physiology, patophysiology of the skin, testing and essential principles of the treatment.
Learning outcomes
The aim of specialized dermatology is to obtain essential knowledge about skin diseases, the symptomatology, history, epidemiology and management of the treatment. Then on the base of essential knowledge to improve skills in clinical investigation of patients with skin diseases. Very important from this point of view is topical therapy, especially for purpose of future activities of students.
Syllabus
  • The first part of lectures is focused on general problems like structure of the skin, hygiene of healthy and diseased skin, basic morphology, diagnostic procedures and therapeutic possibilities in dermatology with the emphasis on topical therapy. In the second – special part – especially suppurative, fungal, viral and parasitic skin diseases, drug eruptions, eczemas, psoriasis, skin features of chronic venous insufficiency and skin tumors are discussed with the help of photographic images. The final part is dedicated to sexually transmitted diseases including AIDS.

Teaching methods (in Czech)
Výuka probíhá formou diskuse. Diskutována jsou témata ošetřovatelské péče z obecné i speciální dermatologie a venerologie, doplněny o bohatou obrazovou dokumentaci zajímavých klinických případů.
Assessment methods (in Czech)
Předmět je ukončen zápočtem. Podmínky udělení zápočtu jsou studentům sděleny v první hodině cvičení. Vyžaduje se aktivní účast studentů ve výuce (absence ze zdravotních důvodů má být uvedena v IS MU).
