Course objectives
The general aim of the practical training is the ability to apply the nursing process to the patients in the psychiatric department. Particular aims of the tutition - at the end of the course students should be able: - to describe and define the specifity of the nursing process at psychiatry - to decribe the process of the care at the dermatovenerology - to name individually and repeat the process of identification of the patients needs at the psychiatry - to explain the determiners of the specific approach to the ill patients at the psychiatry - to formulate basic nursing problems of the patients at the psychiatry - to evaluate the effectivity of nursing interventions by the patients at psychiatry - to use nursing and health documentation of the patients and report changes of the health status of the patients on the basis of the legislation and competency of students The aim of exercise is the ability to apply the nursing process in the psychiatric department. They are getting knowledge about psychiatricdisorders, their clinical manifestation, treatment and nursing. In the sphere of special psychiatry th emost frequent psychiatric disorder and treatment methods (including biological treatment) are presented. Emphasis is putting on principles of targeted communication with persons suffering from mental disorders both adults and children. The aim of study subject is to enlarge and deepen students knowledge.

  • Application of nursing process at the psychiatric department   The first contact with sick and clinically driven interview.   Investigative methods in psychiatry. The basic mental functions and their disorders (perception, thinking). The basic mental functions and their disorders (memory, intellect, emotions).
