Course objectives
This three-semester course didactically informes students in basic theoretical knowledge, consolidates and studies the issues in more detail in subsequent semesters. Course provides students the knowledges required to perfect orientation in the problems of refractive errors of the eye and possibilities of their correction in children age. Practically students verify their learned knowledges during exercises in the examination room and optical laboratory in Medical Faculty of Masaryk University and in ophthalmology departments of children department. The aim of the studies are complete knowledges in issues of refractive eye errors and all circumstances related to them including refractive errors examination and their correction. The part of subject is introduction with necessary theory regarding contact lenses which they will also practically check this in center for teaching, so after successful exam they will be able to handle their own practical application including the selection of the most suitable contact lens.
Learning outcomes
Student is able to recognize the difference principles of spectacle correction and contact lenses, specifics.
