Course objectives
Clinical rehabilitation of Binocular vision is complex methodology of procedures for the correction and fixation of binocular functions. Students will be introduced to the methodology, which is systematically trained.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of this course the student will be able to: • - Define the term single binocular vision • - Know all of its components and know what factors affect the correct development of a single binocular vision • - familiar with disorders of single binocular vision such as suppression, amblyopia and anomalous retinal correspondence • - to understand the term strabismus and to know its types and causes • - to have knowledge of diagnostic methods and possibilities of conservative treatment of strabismus - pleoptic and ortoptic - even on surgical treatment

  • - Adoption of principles and work with examination devices and aids in the examination of patients with binocular disorders: Anamnestic data, Examination of visual acuity at the distance, near, BGT test in distance, near, WORTH test, Hardy's test, Red test, Swan's anaglyphic test, HB test, MWT, Maddox's cross, Examination of fixation, Examination of resolving ability, Examination of contrast sensitivity, PD measurement, Synoptophore (Troposcope), SPP, F, FV, Stereopsis, gamma angle, Cover test, Motility, convergence, Stereotests (Lang, Frisby, TNO, Randot), Examination with prisms, Lancaster, Hess's Shield, Ryb's Board, Screening examinations of pre-school children - Adoption of principles and work with devices for the treatment of patients with binocular disorders: Synoptophore (Troposcope), Prisms (diplopia), exercises in relative space, Stereoscopes (Holmes, Vergen, Mirror), Cheiroskope, Rémys separator, Diploscope, CAM, Locator, Corrector, Pleoptophore, Eutyskope, Centrophore, Muscle treadmill, Convergometer, Active pleoptic treatment, - Education of the patient, guardian representative

Assessment methods
credit•For granting credit, student must fulfill all these following requirements: 1. Participation in all exercises during the semester, replacement of the excused absence after agreement with the teacher until the end of the relevant semester lessons. 2. The student submits to the secretariat of the KOO LF MU a completed and signed "Confirmation of Practical Teaching No. 2 - ORTOPTIKA, KOO LF MU - 3rd Year 5th Semester" till the deadline, which will be presented by KOO LF MU. 3. case report processing (text range of at least 4 pages A4 including image attachments and used literature, Times New Roman 12, line spacing 1.5, margins 2.5 cm). The case report will be submitted in printed form to the lecturer at the credit seminar. • 4. oral presentation of the case report at the credit seminar (MS PowerPoint, 7-10 min, approx. 15 pictures).
