Course objectives
Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the subject is to provide the student with knowledge in the field of education and education of both individuals and groups of people in health and illness and to lead him to all-round viewing of phenomena in relation to pedagogy, orthoptics, medicine and psychology. Then acquire the knowledge and skills acquired in this way practically in his clinical practice.
Learning outcomes
Student can define and explain basic concepts. The student can explain, describe and apply the laws of learning. The student can formulate educational goals (cognitive, affective, psychomotor). The student can enumerate, describe individual methods, forms of education, didactic means including their strengths and weaknesses. The student is able to design, evaluate the educational process with respect to age and individual peculiarities.
Syllabus
  • Pedagogy as a science (definition of the concept, relation of pedagogy to other sciences, structure of the field, basic terms - educator, education, eductor, educational process, etc.) Laws and types of learning, teaching styles, pedagogical diagnostics The concept and principles of pedagogical communication and their use in the educational process, factors influencing this process Definition and formulation of educational goals in general and applications to ortoptist work. Application of teaching methods both traditional and activating in the educational process Types and forms of educational requirements in orthoptics Organizational forms of education Material didactic means Designing and evaluating the educational process in the field of orthoptics. Self-reflection in the educational process Documentation of the educational process in terms of the medical facility Special approaches in the education of physically handicapped individuals - development of individual disabilities (blind, weak, hearing and speech disorders, movement disorders) Specialties of education of individual age groups, overcoming barriers in education in the practice of ortoptists. Presentation The personality of the educator.
