Course objectives
Students will learn the basics of clinical immunology and allergology. Basics of healing diagnostics.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this course, students should be able to understand the basic mechanisms of immune response so that they can understand how the development of immune system disorders leads to various forms of immunopathological diseases including food allergies.
Syllabus
  • Immunology and medicine. History of immunology. Cells and organs of the immune system. Antigens. Development of immune response. Main histocompatibility complex. Lymphocytes B and antibody formation. Immunoglobulins. T lymphocytes and cellular immunity. Cellular cytotoxicity. Cytokines. Defense functions of the immune system. Anti-infectious immunity. Congenital immunity. Allergic diseases. Nutrition and immunity. Immunopathology. Immunodeficiency. Autoimmune diseases. Immunological prevention (vaccination) and therapy. Laboratory immunological methods

Assessment methods
Colloquium after the lectures. To obtain the colloquium, attendance at 90% of the classes, active participation in the class and discussion is required. Oral questions continuously check knowledge.
