Course objectives
The subject is of a practical nature. Its goal is the gradual adaptation of students to the hospital environment and to the medical rescue service. It allows the application of theoretical knowledge in the conditions of clinical workplaces and pre-hospital and hospital emergency care settings. It is familiar with specialized care, characteristic of pre-hospital and hospital emergency care, intensive care and anesthesia. Students work under the supervision of clinicians in accredited workplaces. Workplaces have a logical continuity in the direction from care to standard to highly specialized.
Learning outcomes
Students will be able to identify the individual bio-psycho-socio-spiritual needs of clients with the use of a diagnostic algorithm, to design, to practically implement and evaluate the effectiveness of the care plan in the co-operation of a multidisciplinary team, to apply theoretical knowledge to practice. They become active members of multidisciplinary nursing teams.
Syllabus
  • Practical training is focused on instructional knowledge, skills, habits and occupational stereotypes / algorithms treat patients on the emergency care:
  • Gradual job stereotypes and their consolidation,
  • individual work with patient documentation, monitoring their needs,
  • Preparation and implementation of the nursing plan under natural conditions, continuous evaluation of nursing activities implemented, changes in interventions, leading to adjust the patient's condition,
  • respecting the peculiarities of nursing care in different age categories,
  • transmission of information to members of the medical team,
  • Labour Organisation at the exit component RLP-RZP-LZS and practical application of theoretical knowledge and skills in working with emergency services,
  • receipt and transfer of patients, the first examination and treatment in the context of practice for emergency services
  • known procedures for working with laboratory biological material,
  • is familiar with the organization and operation of the control room EMS, communicating with callers, with algorithms activities and synergies with other emergency services,
  • knows the equipment and peripherals ambulance,
  • participates in team work crew ambulances;
  • is an active member of the team to acute income ARO,
  • manages the operation of medical equipment required to monitor condition of the patient / client
  • respects patients' rights and observes the principles of ethics,
  • practically master the basics of behavior in the sterile environment of the operating room, anesthesia section of a nurse, communication with patients to cope with sudden changes of state, positioning, patient safety, transport back to the department,
  • knows the procedure for accepting mothers at delivery room, preparation for childbirth, psychotherapy approach, communication with the mother and relatives, the conduct of spontaneous delivery, newborn care, newborn resuscitation, secured transport of newborns,
  • is capable of indicative assessment of the newborn major risks, basic nursing procedures, providing transportation newborn.
  • Completion of professional experience, fulfillment of predefined objectives and practical implementation of student performance, recorded in his diary professional and individual practice.

Teaching methods
Students work under the guidance of trainers (mentors), as directed by the teacher handled seminar work focusing on the nursing process for patients in intensive care.
