Course objectives
Emergency medicine for medical rescuers is a profiling theoretical and practical subject. Its aim is to prepare students both theoretically and practically for the profession of medical rescuer, member of the emergency rescue service team or hospital urgent hospital team.
Learning outcomes
The student will be:
have the comprehensive knowledge necessary for the examination and treatment of the patient used in pre-hospital and hospital emergency care for other serious disabilities of the individual's health, including the management of extramural labor, the practical use of available therapeutic and fixation aids, transport and rescue means, ,
to handle all commonly used instrumentation and communication tools.
Syllabus
  • Procedures for examinations and treatments used in pre-hospital and hospital emergency care for serious personal health impairments that, without immediate care, lead to the exacerbation of illnesses or suffering of the affected person and, last but not least, the management of extramural delivery, available medical and fixation aids, transport and rescue means; their use, the patient's transport position, the importance and efficient use of all instrumentation and communication devices.
  • As part of the course, students complete the online course "Hyperbaric Medicine for Paramedics" aimed at gaining knowledge about diving medicine, diving physiology, and the applications and indications of HBO. The course was created thanks to the project "Online educational platform for students of medical and non-medical fields with a focus on hyperbaric medicine", which is implemented by the Interreg V-A SK-CZ program and co-financed from the European Regional Development Fund.
