Course objectives
The aim is to improve theoretical background in a field of functional organization of human neuro-muscular control, principles of motor learning, human development and neuro-plasticity of central nervous system. Furthermore the objective is to apply neuro-physiological principles of neuro-muscular control and brain structure in movement disorders physiotherapy.
Syllabus
  • Learned non-use fenomenon - cognitive or reflexive problem?
  • Constraint-induced movement therapy: Another form of neuro-developmental treatment or something completely different?
  • Neglect and Pusher syndrome: Neurophysiology and physiotherapy in visuo-spatial, perceptive and ideo-kinaesthetic deficit
  • Botulinum Toxin: Physiotherapy and spasticity management, paradox of spasticity
  • Stimulation vs. facilitation and somato-sensory Integration: reflexive or cognitive way of sensory motor Stimulation therapy?
  • Neuro-muscular control of Postural stability: reflexive principles of segmental stability, stabilizing strategies and balance training, muscle co-activation
  • Human motor development: Motor programs during individual developmental stages, mechanisms and development of functional posture
  • Human motor development II.: Postural ontogenesis, reflex locomotion by Vojta technique
