Course objectives
The goal of nursing practice is to acquire advanced knowledge and skills in a highly specialized nursing care for patients with surgical and internal diseases. An integral part of the preparation for specialized roles in selected areas of health care and to obtain information about a facility where such care is provided.
Learning outcomes
The student will be able to: • - follow, monitor and evaluate data on health status, especially vital functions, evaluate the severity of the condition, including the use of invasive methods; • - perform comprehensive highly specialized nursing care focused mainly on the prevention of immobilization syndrome and airway care in patients with secured airways; • - master communication techniques in patients with secured airways; • - perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation using available technical equipment, including defibrillation of the heart by electric shock; • - monitor the functionality of special instrumentation and ensure its constant readiness; • - keep documentation • - perform measurement and analysis of vital functions by specialized procedures using instrumentation, including the use of invasive methods; • - participate in cardiopulmonary resuscitation using technical equipment, including defibrillation of the heart by electric shock; • - participate in the preparation and application of medicinal products; • - provide patient education • - provide highly specialized nursing care for the patient in the surgical and internal medicine departments, including the recognition of complications; • - track, monitor and evaluate health data; - evaluate laboratory values ​​(basic ionogram, urea, creatinine, KO, coagulation, cardiac enzymes), educate relatives, manage the preparation of a sterile table for aseptic procedures, evaluate the state of consciousness using evaluation methods, assess nutritional status based on laboratory tests • - master communication techniques.
Syllabus
  • Practice of students at ICU internal or surgical type. The student will perform activities to a minimum extent. Performance and frequency: • Assessment of laboratory values (basic iontogram, urea, creatinine, blood count, coagulation, cardiac enzymes, hepatic function) 5x • Patient education 3x • Relative education 2x • Preparation of sterile table to aseptic performance 5x • Nutrition based on 5x laboratory tests • Evaluation of consciousness using evaluation methodologies 5x, students and professional performances are recorded in the diary of nursing practice.
