Course objectives
At the end of these lectures collection a student will be able to understand and to explain measuring processes of instruments in the optometrist workplace. The student produces arguments and method of refractive errors and disorders. On the base of acquired knowledge the student will be able to explain types and principles of examination methods and technical documentation.

  • History of the ophthalmology, optometry and contactology. Their definition and position in the world. Anatomy of the eye, optical characteristics of the eye, adaptation, colour sense, binocular vision, physiology of vision, ophthalmologic examination methods. Errors of the optical system of the eye Ammetropy Refractometry, examination methods Refractometers and keratometers Cycloplegic examination Subjective examination methods Spectacle correction of refractive errors Spectacle optics Types of spectacle lenses News in spectacle technology
