Course objectives
This subject is an introduction in Nursing science for medical students. Tuition is focused on the basic information how to take care of the patient (mobile - independent, immobile - dependent) in all age and period of life. graduates will be able: - cognitive goals: to define nursing, holism and nursing care. - psychomotor goals: be able to render care and satisfy basic patients´s needs. - affective goals: to understand and accept the role of general nurse.

Syllabus
  • The subject primary care and basic nursing skills is theoreticaly and practicaly orientated subject. The main goal of the subject is to familiarise students with nursing sciences and posible collaboraion among nurses and physicians. Students obtaine knowledge anf basic skills for delirevivering basic nursing skills and diagnostic procedures which are provide by nurses or in which nurse assist to doctor. first part - theory - 4 hours
  • nursing - characteristics, goals, features
  • nursing process and nursing documentation
  • nursing unit
  • patient rights
  • patients bed - positioning of the patients, making beds,imobilisation syndrome - prevention
  • help with hygienic care
  • help with feeding and eating
  • help with excretion
  • Second part - 3 hours
  • communication - verbal, nonverbal
  • problem solving in relation to the basic nursing care
  • Third part - 8 hours for english speaking students
  • demonstration and exercise of basic nursing skill in clinical environment under the supervision of nursing teacher.
