Cíle předmětu
The course is complementary to aZLBC041p and aZLBC041s. The aim of the course is to bring experience with solving practical problems in clinical biochemistry, to acquire practical laboratory skills and to learn students to use results of biochemical analysis for diagnostics
Výstupy z učení
Upon completion of the course the student will be able to:
- manipulate with basic laboratory equipment and respect the principles of safe work in the laboratory
- explain how to obtain biological material for biochemical analysis and respects the rules of manipulation.
- understand the principles of interpretation of biochemical analyzes results, discuss the significance of test results.
- understand the principles of the most important biochemical-analytical methodologies.

Informace učitele
Teaching in practical classes will be realized in a contactless form, as online meetings in MS Teams environment, similarly like on-line seminars in the Autumn semester. The classes will take place on the dates and times specified in the schedule. Materials for practical classes will always be included in Study materials of the course. For each class, there are instructions with relevant theoretical background, description of a procedure, and other information. The second file is a template of protocol comprising relevant questions to the practical class together with the results obtained from measurements. The tasks for students are to complete the protocol questions, process the measurement data, and make conclusions. Completed protocol must be uploaded to IS Homework Vault before the specified deadline. During the online class, there will be a discussion of the theoretical background, principles and meaning of measurement, conclusions from the experiments, elaboration of protocols, and questions from students. The deadline for submitting the protocols is always the Sunday 24:00 for the class in the given week. Attendance in all on-line classes is mandatory, absences must be excused through the Study department within 5 days of the beginning of absence. Missed classes must be substituted in agreement with the teacher.
