Course objectives
Course description: Specialized training in the use of computers for field documentation in archaeological research (GIS), their laboratory analysis and the use of computers in the documentation and analysis of archaeological collections of household goods.
Syllabus
  • In the seminar the students will acquire methodological principles for evaluating of scientific archaeological data by means of the state-of-the-art computer technologies. Stress is laid on the usage of multivariate statistical analyses (main component analysis, cluster analysis, correspondence analysis) and the practical application in archaeology. Moreover the students are informed about geographic information systems and their integration with the statistical analyses outputs.

Teaching methods
Lecture is focused on practical approach of statistical analysis. Students can discuss statistical problems connected with their thesis or projects.
