Schopnost studovat odborný archeologický či historický text v anglickém a německém jazyce. Absolvování kurzu AEB_A14f Early Middle Ages in Central Europe výhodou.
Předmět je součástí bloku teoretických přednášek k pravěkým a historickým dějinám Evropy a je určen zájemcům o problematiku.

Course objectives
The course provides general information on historical events and development of the European continent from the end of the Migration Period to the beginning of the High Middle Ages. Emphasis is put on social and economic development of selected regions. The seminar addresses several special problems connected with lecture topics, with accent on comparative history and case studies.
Learning outcomes
After completion of the course, student will be able to:
- hold a well-founded discussion about fundamental trends in present-day European medieval research, emphasizing the role of archaeology in this research
- set the early medieval development in the Czech lands into wider European context.
