Course objectives
Semantics (as the study of meaning) is central to the study of communication. This seminar offers an introduction to some of the basic concepts of semantics and to the basic problems connected with the analysis of the semantic structure of lexemes and whole sentences. This is an investigative seminar. It is aimed at encouraging an active approach on the part of students toward the subject matter.
