Cíle předmětu
The course provides students with an overview of current trends in translation studies research, namely in process and corpora translation studies, translator status and identity (translator habitus), translation and policy/news/conflict, translation quality and assessment studies, researching new forms of translation. In addition, students will explore the areas by preparing selecting papers representing the diffrent areas and presenting and discusssing the research in class.
Výstupy z učení
Having completed the course, students will: - be aware of major current trends and directions in TS research including the relevant research groups, regional centres and main protagonists
- be acquainted with the relevant research goals, challenges and methodologies
- be able to link the recent and emerging treds in TS research to their own reseacrh areas

  • (1) processes and cognition in translation studies, corpora approaches, new technologies
  • (2) research in translator status and identity (translator habitus etc.)
  • (3) researching translation and policy/news/conflict
  • (4) new trends in translation quality and assessment studies
  • (5) researching new and emerging forms of translation (machine translation, crowdsourcing, fansubbing etc.); reception studies and AVT
