Cíle předmětu
This year's course will consider aspects of the work of Manuel Castells on areas related to the development of internet communication and the media and broader, related socio-economic factors. The aim of the course is to provide a greater understanding of recent developments in this area through the initial perspective of Castells' approach.
Výstupy z učení
Students who complete the course will be expected to have gained an appropriate level of understanding of the areas covered in terms of relations between relevant developments in computer technology, the media and related socio-economic factors, and as reflected in the analysis presented in the required essay.

The course will be taught by a combination of group and class discussion

The course will be assessed in terms of oral contribution (40%) and essay (8-12 pages)(60%).
