Course objectives
This semester’s course will focus on aspects of fiction, focusing primarily on work by E.M Forster, Ford Madox Ford, D.H Lawrence, James Joyce, Dorothy Richardson, Katherine Mansfield, and Virginia Woolf.
Learning outcomes
Students who have followed the course will have gained and understanding of major works produced within the context of British modernism and an ability to discuss and analyse formal attitudes and content of those works.

Teaching methods
The course will be taught through a combination of míní-lectures, close reading, small group and whole class discussion.
Assessment methods
The course will be assessed by a combination of class attendance and oral contribution (40%) and an essay of 6-8 pages, double spaced, size 12. type (60%). Essays should be submitted to my IS e-mail address (33697@mail.muni.cz). If you have not received a grade within 3 days please let me know.
