Course objectives
The objective is to enable students to gain practical experience in a selected archive. The practical work will focus on a particular area of archive work and can also be the basis for choosing a bachelor thesis topic. There are places in the departments of the Moravian Archives, its branches (State District Archives) and Brno City Archives. Depending on prior approval, it is possible to do the practical work in another archive. The practical work takes place over a continuous 3-week period after the end of the course (usually May-September).
Learning outcomes
Students will be able to:
- practically apply their theoretical knowledge of archival science
- independently carry out selected tasks from archival work in a specified type of state archive

  • Continuous 3-week practical work in a state or other accredited archive (May-September). Students choose where to work by the end of April.

Teaching methods
Continuous practical work of three weeks, consultation with the tutor.
