Course objectives
The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the development and current state of archival legislation, with the archival network of the Czech Republic, and with various types of public and private archives. The description of archive activities is focused on the selection and registration of archive materials, the area of processing archival materials, and the creation of archival aids.
Learning outcomes
Upon completing the course students will be able to:
- understand archival legislation from the past and present;
- use archival terminology;
- use their knowledge of the archival network in their academic work;
- interpret the issue of archival selection and evidence;
- recognize the types of archival aids;
- distinguish an archivist’s activities in the archives.
