Course objectives
The students are given a list of literary works (fiction, i.e. belles-lettres, chronicles), which they have to exploit as historical sources for the period concerned (the Middle Ages of the Baltic region).
Syllabus
  • Oldiest textual sources concerning Baltics. Tha Nodric folklore of Sami, Finnish, Estonian people etc. Baltic folklore. Cronicles of Livonia Russian cronicles. Baltics int the scope of the western literature of midlle-ages.
