Course objectives
Croatian language course for beginners. At the end of the course students will be able to understand and make productive use of basic vocabulary, grammar and phonetic specifics of Croatian. At the end of this course students should be able to describe new grammar phenomena acquired in this semester and use the knowledge in spoken and written interaction. By the means of acquiring new vocabulary and grammar they can create text or speak about related topics. Students are able to understand written text and interpret it.
Syllabus
  • Basic vocabulary and phrases, accent, dialects, phonetic changes, cases, pronouns, adverbs, present tense of a verb „to be“, present tense terminations (-am, -im, -em, -jem), modal verbs, prepositions.

Teaching methods
Seminar (six hours per week), home preparation, within the class a combination of teacher-led activities and student-centered/group learning activities will be employed.
Assessment methods
Regular attendance, homework and home preparation required. Upon fullfilling all requirements listed the students must pass a final test.
