Course objectives
Croatian language instruction focused on the active spoken knowledge – broadining of vocabulary (professional and technical terms), phraseology, active speech abilities. At the end of this course students should be able to describe new grammar phenomena acquired in this semester and use the knowledge in spoken and written interaction. By the means of acquiring new vocabulary and grammar they can create text or speak about related topics. Students are able to understand written text and interpret it.

  • Names, vocative, verbal regimen, pluperfect, verbal aspect, perfect gerund, translation from Czech to Croatian, phrases, analysis of short stories, conversation.

Teaching methods
Seminar (four hours per week), several essays, e-learning, home preparation, within the class a combination of teacher-led activities and student-centered/group learning activities will be employed.
Assessment methods
Regular attendance, homework and home preparation required. The students must hand in a series of essays, ten pages of translation from Croatian to Czech (texts from the fields of culture and politics), fulfill e-learning activities and to pass a final test.
