Seminář nabídne studentům: 1. analýzu pojetí valence u Tesniera; 2. přejetí pojmu valence v moderní lingvistice české i zahraniční; 3. rozbor argumentů hlavních odpůrců valenční teorie; 4. možnost diskuse o mojí tzv. hypotéze modifikované valenční teorie (dosud nepublikováno, vyjde ve Slově a slovesnosti 1, 2000).
