- Course objectives
- In the introductory lessons there will be presented the basic literature concerned by presenting and evaluating the syntheses of literary history in the 20th century.
In following lectures the main "controversial" themes will be dealt with (e.g. the love lyric poetry of the Middle Ages, medieval legends, genre system of Renaissance literature, the understanding of Baroque literature, the importance of J.A. Komenský, artistic value of Baroque homiletics).
At the end of the course, the student should: be able
to understand the syntheses of the Czech old literary history;
to understand the choosen literary themes;
to differentiate artistic values of the Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque literature; - Syllabus
