Course objectives
The seminar is designed as an introduction to the world of Michel Foucault. We will focus on the importance of his work for humanities and theoretical thinking about literature.
Syllabus
  • - Foucaults life and work in outline, the context of postmodernism and French poststructuralism
  • - Foucaults key (concepts,) notions and themes (epistémé, discours, power, subject, archeology, genealogy, the death of author, etc.)
  • - Intepretations and analyses of Foucalts texts transleted in Czech or Slovak.
