Course objectives
The aim of the course is to learn how to read, analyse and interpret dramatic texts of older Czech literature (c. 1400-1800) through an active theatrical experience. Through staged reading, dramatization, and performance (under the guidance of a professional lecturer from Polárka Theatre), we will explore not only the work itself, but also its potential recipients and social impact.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:
- understand the meaning of selected dramatic texts of older literature;
- analyze and interpret selected works;
- perform a selected role in a public performance;
- participate in the organisation and production of a staged play;
