Course objectives
The main goals of the course are:
- To understand how and why people in organizations think (the concept of bounded rationality - the basics of behavioral economics, cognitive distortions, dramatic instincts and natural fears, etc.)
- To get to know and master communication skills for overcoming perceived barriers and increasing the motivation of the other party (active listening, non-violent communication, negotiation psychology, persuasive principles, recognition of manipulation and others...)
- To establish a healthy designer mindset in your approach to users, and then also to those around you (colleagues, superiors, clients)
- Using psychological arguments to dispel frequent myths about users and to establish healthier thinking
- Adopt the attitude and practices for being a "good" team member (concept of psychological safety, communication and conflicts, receiving / giving feedback, argumentative fouls)
- To psychologically anchor the principles of design thinking and clarify what kind of designer I wish to be
Learning outcomes
Student after completing the course:
- is able to psychologically reflect and critically examine the behavior of herself/himself, users, organizations and team/s - knows a range of practical psychological techniques, strategies and tools applicable in the work of a designer and knows where to follow up with deeper study and practice

  • Block 1) Psychology in terms of work in the organization = plans in other people's plans
  • Block 2) Psychology in terms of working with the user
  • Block 3) Psychology in terms of teamwork
  • Block 4) Psychology in terms of working with oneself

Final colloquium – group discussion and reflection on topics from the modules
