Course objectives
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with theatrical and dramatic works of the second half of the 19th century. Point out the variability of theatrical life (artistic trends of late romanticism, parnassism, with emphasis on realism), the use of stage means, the transformation of the theater network (the establishment of the National Theaters in Prague and Brno). Attention will also be focused on dramatic works of the period (authors, works, productions of dramatic plays).
