Course objectives
The course is dealing with the opera as a theatrical Genre. Opera formed stage design conventions and determined style of scenography and development of theatrical space. The course is also focussed on the opera direction.

The course is held in Czech.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course student will be able to:
- understand key terms of opera history as theatre genre;
- understand key terms of musicology needed for complete analysis of opera performance;
- explain priciples of opera staging and other terms discussed in class;
- do thorough theatrological analysis of opera performance.
