Prerequisites
In order to be admitted to the Bachelor's state examination, a student must
a) gain credits prescribed by his/her study plan;
b) submit the Bachelor’s thesis, if he/she is a student of diploma form of study / major or single-study (completus) study plan.

Course objectives
The aim of the Bachelor's state examination is to prove whether a student have reached the learning outcomes of the Bachelor's programme Ancient History as prescribed by his/her study form / plan.
Learning outcomes
A successful student should be able to:
- continue successfully his/her studies in a Master's degree programme of Ancient History or a related field
- pursue a profession, which requires the completion of Bachelor's degree studies in humanities
Syllabus
  • The state exam has two parts:
  • 1. The defence of the Bachelor’s thesis (in case of diploma form of study / completus or major study plan)
  • 2. Ancient History
  • The second part consists of these thematic areas:
  • 1) Introduction to the study of Ancient History
  • 2) History of the Ancient Near East and the Eastern Mediterranean
  • 3) History of ancient Greece
  • 4) history of ancient Rome
  • 5) History of Late Antiquity and ancient legacy in Europe
