The doctoral student is required to have successfully completed at least two semesters of doctoral studies.

Course objectives
Doctoral students participate in teaching at the Department of Classical Studies (beginning with their second year or later) for at least one semester. They prepare a series of lectures or a seminar for a lecture led by a teacher with the title of professor, associate professor or assistant professor.
The aim is to:
Use the knowledge acquired during one's Ph.D. studies in education of students (especially of B.A. level)
Learn good public representation
Learn to defend one's scholarly opinions
Deepen one's own logic and knowledge thanks to the interaction with students.
Learning outcomes
After the completion of the course, students will be able to lecture on selected topic, so that B.A. or M.A. students benefit from his/her lecturing.
They will deepen their understanding of the topic they are working on.
Syllabus
  • The doctoral student hands over a syllabus together with a list of compulsory and recommended reading to the supervisor first, and then to the template manager.
  • The syllabus must contain basic points of the subject matter that is lectured in particular semester, the course objective and the expected increasing of students' competencies.
  • The teaching will be overseen by the supervisor on a regular basis.
  • Part-time students are allowed to meet the obligation of teaching in an other, adequate form (supervising a B.A. thesis, opposing at least two B.A. theses, preparation of study materials for a course led by an assistant professor, an associate professor, or a professor).
Literature
  • Literaturu zadává vyučující student doktorského studia podle zaměření kurzu.
  • Reading is recommended by the proposer of the course (the teaching Ph.D. student) due to the character of the course that is being taught.
Teaching methods
The methods are chosen by the proposer of the course; it is possible to have a lecture, a seminar, or a block teaching.
Assessment methods
The supervisor reads thoroughly and checks the syllabus of the series of lectures/seminar.
After the end of the course, he/she asks the graduates of the course, whether the course met their expectations - in written form and not through a course poll.
