Course objectives (in Czech)
Experimentální seminář zaměřený na nejvýznačnější osobnost architektonické teorie i praxe 19. století si dává za ambiciózní cíl prozkoumat texty i stavby Gottfrieda Sempera a porozumět jim.
Cesta k tomuto cíli bude lemována čtením Semperových textů (originál NJ, překlad v AJ) a textů historiků umění o něm (převážně AJ a NJ), zkoumáním jeho staveb a diskusí nad těmito texty a tématy.
Náplň každé hodiny bude složená ze dvou částí - z teorie a z praxe. V první z nich budeme probírat Semperův teoretický text, ve druhé nějaký jeho konkrétní architektonický projekt nebo realizaci v kontextu doby, funkce, stylu atd.
Klíčovým textem je přitom Stil in den technischen und tektonischen Künsten, oder, praktische Aestetik (v AJ Style in the technical and tectonic arts; or, Practical aesthetics) a jeho jednotlivé kapitoly. Ze staveb pak lze zmínit nejen ty notoricky známé (obě opery v Drážďanech a galerie tamtéž, Polytechnika v Curychu, radnice v Winterthuru, Dvorní muzea a Burgtheater ve Vídni), ale i méně známé (vila Rosa a synagoga v Drážďanech, zámek Schwerin či kasárna v Budyšíně) nebo ty nakonec neprovedené (např. divadlo pro Rio de Janeiro)...

Studentky a studenti se dokáží zorientovat v teorii architektury 19. století a ve tvorbě Gottfrieda Sempera.
