Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The lecture will focus on the architecture of the second half of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century, ie on the so-called historicism, Art Nouveau and modernism, and territorially on the Czech lands and Austria-Hungary. The point of view of personalities who influenced dozens of other architects not only with their architectural practice, but mainly thanks to their pedagogical work, will be emphasized. However, clients, functional requirements for buildings, a stylistic point of view or a broader background of individual cases will not be left out either.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, students will be able to identify, analyze and interpret the architecture of historicism and Art Nouveau in the Central European context, the situation in Brno will not be neglected.
